Holy Cross Health Foundation

Laura Denoux has joined the Holy Cross Health Foundation as Vice President & Chief Development Officer. Laura has led the development and implementation of all fundraising efforts including developing and organizing campaigns and special fundraising programs to meet capital and other ongoing funding needs of the hospital, while also maintaining relationships with major donors and prospective donors.
Before joining Holy Cross, Laura served as the Sr. Director of Development & Corporate Partnerships with Baptist Health South Florida Foundation since 2012, overseeing a team that led the corporate fundraising efforts for the health system across four counties in South Florida. Laura’s scope of responsibility included overseeing the Corporate Philanthropy Partners program, and managing relationships with high-net worth individuals, corporations, and foundations with an emphasis on corporate philanthropic partnerships and major gifts. Throughout her time at Baptist, Laura raised over $36 million in support of Baptist Health’s hospitals, centers of excellence, institutes, and programs, and was responsible for securing the largest corporate gift in Baptist Health’s history.
Laura has over 22 years of fundraising and sales experience, which also includes managing corporate sponsorships and community-wide peer-to-peer fundraising efforts of the American Heart Association’s Miami Heart Walk from 2008 to 2012 as the Director of Development. During her time with American Heart Association, Laura successfully managed a top 10 national corporate fundraising team and raised over $1M annually for the Miami Heart Walk.
She has also held several leadership sales roles at Samsung and Mary Kay before making the career change to fundraising, including earning the prestigious pink Cadillac. From 2008-2009, she was a contestant on season 7 of the popular NBC reality show, The Biggest Loser. Laura graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing & Communications.

Jennifer Hernandez is a healthcare philanthropy leader with more than 20 years of experience advancing mission-driven organizations through strategic fundraising, team leadership, and operational excellence. She serves as Director of Development and Strategic Philanthropy Operations at Holy Cross Health, where she leads a comprehensive development program in support of patient care and the organization’s most critical priorities.
In her role, Jennifer leads a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for integrating major gifts, grateful patient philanthropy, and development operations. She leads strategy development, campaign planning, and infrastructure building to strengthen fundraising performance and scalability. Known for aligning philanthropy with organizational priorities, Jennifer partners closely with executive and clinical leadership to foster a culture of philanthropy across the health system.
Since joining Holy Cross Health in 2022, she has played a key role in enhancing fundraising effectiveness, expanding donor and patient engagement strategies, and implementing systems and processes that support long-term growth. Her work bridges frontline fundraising with operational strategy, ensuring both immediate impact and sustainable success.
Prior to Holy Cross Health, Jennifer served as Director of Development at Baptist Health South Florida Foundation, where she led fundraising initiatives across campaigns, events, and programmatic priorities, building strong relationships with individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.
Earlier in her career, she spent a decade with the Miami-Dade Beacon Council as Director of Development and Special Projects, supporting economic development efforts by attracting new business investment and fostering growth for local companies in Miami-Dade County.
Jennifer holds a Master of Public Administration from Florida International University and is passionate about mentoring emerging leaders and sharing insights on careers in healthcare philanthropy.

Maddison DeLayo joined the Holy Cross Health Foundation in March of 2023. Maddison is responsible maintaining the Blackbaud CRM donor database, ensuring high data quality, seamless system functionality, and accurate reporting. Maddison provides in-depth donor analysis and oversees gift processing and stewardship. Additionally, Maddison creates customized financial and fundraising reports to support the giving programs, and trins staff on effective database use to optimized organizational impact.
Maddison brings extensive experience in nonprofit management, fundraising strategy, and digital marketing. She has worked in various roles in the private and not-for-profit sectors, most recently as Director of Programs and Partner Outreach for a youth nonprofit in Miami, FL. Maddison's accomplishments include bringing in over $1,200,000 in individual donations, creating and cultivating over 45 new partnerships and collaboration opportunities, and coordinating several major professional workshops.
Maddison completed her studies at Salve Regina University, a Sisters of Mercy school for higher education. She earned a Master of Business Administration with a focus on social ventures and a certificate in social entrepreneurship. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, with a minor in Business Administration.

Brittany Henson joined the Holy Cross Health Foundation in June 2023, assuming the position of Development Officer. Within her role, Brittany dedicates her efforts to the creation of cultivation and solicitation strategies for various initiatives, including annual giving, major gifts, capital campaigns, and donor stewardship programs.
Prior to her current position, Brittany was a valuable member of the Development team at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, renowned as the oldest and largest animal shelter in Palm Beach County. During her tenure there, Brittany played a significant role in generating over $2.8 million in individual donations. She also successfully launched donor recognition programs and effectively managed various donor relations events.
Brittany holds a Bachelor's degree in International Business and a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing, both obtained from Palm Beach Atlantic University. After completing her studies, Brittany joined her alma mater's Admissions team, serving in diverse sales and operations roles for more than a decade. As a native of Florida, Brittany has a passion for traveling and being near the water.

Dr. Karan Munuswamy is a board-certified cardiologist and member of Holy Cross Medical Group. He is the Director of Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiology Associates, Holy Cross Medical Group. He also serves as chairman of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at Holy Cross Health.
Dr. Munuswamy has been involved with Holy Cross Health related fundraising activities for the past 30 years and has been a key player in helping the organization meet fundraising goals ranging from the $26 million Jim Moran Challenge to the Phil Smith Neuroscience Institute, Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women's Center and Jim Moran Heart and Vascular Research Institute – where he is involved in clinical research.
Dr. Munuswamy has served as president of the local chapter of the American Heart Association, is immediate past president of the American Diabetes Association of South Florida. He has been successful in increasing awareness of heart disease and diabetes while raising money for research and education. Dr. Munuswamy is a member of Column Society, Pine Crest School and a trustee member of South Florida Temple. He lives with his wife Sarita, who is a pediatrician.

Lauren Bernstein joined the Holy Cross Health Foundation in December 2023, assuming the position of Development Officer. Lauren’s role focuses on corporate philanthropy and grants management, as well as corporate sponsorships.
Lauren comes to Holy Cross Health with close to a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, most recently serving as the Grants Manager at Jack & Jill Center. Before relocating back to South Florida in 2020 she worked for Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, a human services organization on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, as a Development & Communications Manager. Lauren holds a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University.

Chantal Deville joined the Holy Cross Health Foundation in December 2023 as a Senior Development Coordinator. In her role, Chantal manages a wide range of responsibilities within Donor Experience, including donor stewardship and recognition, Marketing and Communications, and Events. She oversees projects such as donor walls, plaques, naming opportunities, installations, impact reports, newsletters, and donor communications. Chantal is passionate about finding innovative solutions for complex challenges and ensuring meaningful engagement with donors.
Prior to joining Holy Cross Health, Chantal built a strong foundation in the events industry, successfully orchestrating large for-profit events hosting more than 4,000 attendees. She managed over 300 events tailored to business owners and entrepreneurs. Her extensive experience in event planning and project management has equipped her with the skills to deliver exceptional donor experiences and impactful initiatives. Chantal holds a bachelor's degree in Business & Professional Leadership from Southeastern University.
