Silver Pride Connection
Introducing Silver Pride Connection: A Monthly Support Group for LGBTQ+ Older Adults
Holy Cross Health is proud to launch Silver Pride Connection, a monthly support group dedicated to uplifting and empowering LGBTQ+ older adults (ages 50+) including those aging with chronic illnesses. Hosted by Von Biggs, this new initiative will be held at the Holy Cross Family Health Center in Oakland Park, offering a safe, affirming space for connection, education, and healing.
Rooted in the mission of Holy Cross Health to serve with reverence, justice, and integrity, Silver Pride Connection is more than a support group—it’s a movement. Beginning August 8, 2025, and the 2nd Friday of each month from 12pm to 2pm (lunch provided), participants will explore vital topics such as health equity, grief, and legacy, aging with chronic illnesses, and the power of chosen family. Through storytelling, workshops, and shared experiences, the group fosters resilience, dignity, and pride in every stage of life.
The year-long program is thoughtfully designed around four quarterly themes:
Health Equity & Advocacy
Reflection, Grief & Legacy
Living Well with Aging & Chronic Illnesses
Identity, Community & Connection
From navigating healthcare systems and legal rights to celebrating Pride through personal storytelling, each session offers meaningful opportunities for growth, support, and community leadership.
Whether you're seeking connection, resources, or simply a space where your story is honored, Silver Pride Connection welcomes you. Join us in building a vibrant, inclusive community where every voice matters and every life is celebrated.
