Kimberly Bennett, MD, MPH Joins Holy Cross Medical Group’s Internal Medicine Practice

 

 

Fort Lauderdale, Florida (September 18, 2025) – Internal medicine physician Kimberly Bennett, MD, MPH has joined Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician-employed group of more than 180 physicians providing services throughout Broward County.

Dr. Bennett’s focus areas include adult medicine, primary prevention, chronic disease management and pre-operative evaluation.  

A graduate of the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and triple minors in chemistry, biology and business, Dr. Bennett then went on to earn her Doctorate of Medicine and Master of Public Health from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she was one of two students selected for the AOA Medical Honor Society during her junior year by placing in the top 10% of her medical school class based on cumulative GPA. 

Dr. Bennett also received the Global Health Scholar Award, which encourages recipients to explore global public health needs and conduct research internationally. She used the scholarship to conduct fieldwork in Haiti, where she developed an electronic medical record system at a Project Medishare clinic.

Following the completion of her degrees at University of Miami, Dr. Bennett traded the Sunshine State for the Lone Star State for her internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. She remained in Dallas for several years serving as a hospitalist at Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) and a teaching attending for the medical center’s internal medicine residency program. In addition, she was an affiliate clinical assistant professor for the Texas A&M College of Medicine. During her time at BUMC, a level one trauma center and transplant center for heart, kidney, liver, pancreas, lung and bone marrow, Dr. Bennett was part of the hospitalist group caring for a medically complex patient population. Dr. Bennett was also a member of the consult, procedure and opioid use disorder teams. Her responsibilities included assisting surgical specialists with medical management of admitted patients; working in an outpatient pre-op clinic; rounding on patients in an inpatient rehab facility; performing bedside procedures such as paracenteses, thoracenteses, lumbar punctures, suprapubic catheter exchanges, large joint aspirations and central line placements; and treating opioid withdrawal symptoms.

Dr. Bennett has contributed to presentations and articles covering topics including acute coronary syndrome, improving respiratory rate accuracy in the hospital and multiple myeloma. Prior to embarking on her medical school journey, she worked as a medical scribe for Emergency Department Physicians at Memorial Hospital Miramar in Florida.

Board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and a member of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Bennett is licensed to practice medicine in Florida and Texas.
