Holy Cross Health Earns 4-Star Rating From Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
June 24, 2026
Rating is based on hospital’s performance in five categories of patient care
Fort Lauderdale, Florida (June 24, 2026) – In the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings for 2026, Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale was awarded four out of five stars for the second consecutive year.
CMS annually rates hospitals nationwide based on how they perform in five categories that are called measure groups. The categories are mortality, readmissions, patient safety, patient experience, and timeliness and effectiveness of care. To help patients, families and caregivers make an informed decision on where to receive emergency care, preventative care, routine exams, diagnostics, surgeries, treatments, therapy and procedures, one metric they rely highly on is this CMS rating because of its objectivity.
“This recognition is a testament to our entire Holy Cross Health team who consistently delivers the highest quality people-centered care and operational excellence to our patients each and every day,” said Pierre Monice, MBA, FACHE, President and CEO of Holy Cross Health. "I am so proud of the team's dedication and sustained commitment to quality that has resulted in a four-star recognition two years in a row. We bring an unwavering focus on health, safety and care to our patients and the community.”
Receiving four stars provides Holy Cross Health patients and their loved ones with the comfort and assurance that high-quality, compassionate care will be delivered time and time again. Holy Cross Health is one of only three hospitals in Broward County to achieve four stars, so it truly is an achievement the health system is proud of and a testament to the reputation it upholds in the community.
Holy Cross Health sustains this level of care in large part because of the support it receives from Trinity Health’s commitment to safety, and their investment in training and resources. This investment is reflected in Holy Cross Health’s recognition as America’s Best Employers for Healthcare Professionals 2025, a prestigious honor awarded by Forbes and Statista.
Holy Cross Health has been named to U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-2026 Best Hospital list as a high performer in six conditions: Colon Cancer Surgery, Heart Failure, Hip Fracture, Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement and Pacemaker Implantation.
This commitment to clinical excellence is further reflected in the Lotus Recognition from the Watson Caring Science Institute—an honor that speaks to how Holy Cross Health’s Mission-driven culture shapes every patient interaction.
Holy Cross Health has distinguished itself as a community leader and premier health care destination for 70 years. In 2025, they received the American Heart Association’s Commitment to Quality Award for achieving high performance across three or more clinical areas in the Get With The Guidelines® program. Only 158 hospitals in the nation have met the criteria for this new award, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to quality improvement. By participating in three or more Get With The Guidelines programs, they commit to using real-time data registries, evidence-based protocols and cross-disciplinary teamwork to raise the standard of care across multiple specialties.
As Holy Cross Health continues to expand access to care across Broward County, this rating reaffirms what the community has come to expect: high-quality care, close to home.
