The $57.3 million Holy Cross Health Center & Emergency Care – Fort Lauderdale at Sunrise is expected to open in Spring 2027.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida (June 30, 2026) – A major investment in Fort Lauderdale’s healthcare future is underway. Holy Cross Health broke ground on the $57.3 million Holy Cross Health Center & Emergency Care – Fort Lauderdale at Sunrise that will expand access to emergency, specialty and diagnostic care for residents and visitors across the region.

Phase one of the nearly 45,000 square-foot campus is expected to open in Spring 2027, bringing 24/7 emergency care, advanced imaging and multispecialty physician services to 200 E. Sunrise Blvd. The campus will span two 22,416 square-foot floors, with the second floor opening in a future phase as Holy Cross Health expands services to meet the community’s growing needs. Once fully operational, the campus is expected to care for more than 73,000 patients annually.

“We’ve been part of this community for many years, and we’ve seen how Fort Lauderdale continues to grow,” said Pierre Monice, MBA, FACHE, President and CEO of Holy Cross Health. “We’re not just turning soil or building a new facility. We’re creating more opportunities for people to get the care they need without putting it off because it’s too far away or too difficult to reach.”

The Fort Lauderdale campus is the second Holy Cross Health Center & Emergency Care location in Broward County, following the opening of the Deerfield Beach campus earlier this year. Together, the two locations reflect Holy Cross Health’s commitment to bringing emergency, specialty and outpatient care beyond its main campus and into more communities across the county.

“When people see a groundbreaking, they see the start of construction,” said Brea Elles, Director of Planning, Design and Construction at Holy Cross Health. “I see the patients and families who will one day walk through these doors. That’s what has guided this project from the very beginning.”

With MPL Construction leading development, the project now enters its next chapter. As the campus takes shape, it will not only expand healthcare services for the community but also create approximately 120 health care jobs during phase one, with more than 200 positions anticipated as future phases are completed. In time, what is now a construction site will become part of the Fort Lauderdale community—a place where neighbors know they can turn when it matters most.
