Andrew Crawford, MD Returns to Holy Cross Medical Group After Journey from Resident to Cardiologist

A former Holy Cross Health resident returns to the health system that helped shape the physician he is today 

Fort Lauderdale, Florida (August 14, 2026) – For Andrew Crawford, MD, joining Holy Cross Medical Group as a cardiologist brings his medical journey full circle. After completing his internal medicine residency at Holy Cross Health in 2023, Dr. Crawford returns to care for patients in the South Florida community where he began his career. 

Dr. Crawford joins Holy Cross Medical Group Cardiology Associates, where he provides comprehensive cardiovascular care, including preventive cardiology, as well as the diagnosis and management of heart disease, heart failure and arrhythmias.

During his residency at Holy Cross Health, Dr. Crawford experienced firsthand the importance of teamwork and taking time to listen to patients. That experience helped shape the physician he is today and played an important role in his decision to return to Holy Cross Health.

“I want every patient to know that they will be treated with the same level of care, respect and attention that I would want for my own family,” said Dr. Crawford. 

For Dr. Crawford, building trust with patients starts with listening, answering questions and explaining complex heart conditions in a way that is easy to understand. He believes patients should feel comfortable being part of decisions about their health. 

His approach to medicine is also shaped by his faith and desire to serve others. As a Christian, Dr. Crawford believes providing care in the spirit of the Gospel means striving to love and serve others with humility, kindness and integrity. 

“My faith reminds me that medicine is more than a profession, it is an opportunity to serve others,” he said. “I hope every patient who walks into my office feels valued, respected and genuinely cared for as a person.”

That belief guides the way Dr. Crawford cares for every patient and is reflected in his service to the community through the Light of the World Clinic in Fort Lauderdale, where he has provided medical care for patients in need. 

During his cardiovascular disease fellowship at AdventHealth Orlando, where he served as Chief Fellow, Dr. Crawford cared for patients with complex heart conditions and continued to develop his expertise in diagnosing and managing cardiovascular disease. 
He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and is board certified in internal medicine.
