I liked that she said I could call at any time if I had questions or concerns after leaving the appointment.

Courtney Plesher is a tremendous asset to Dr. Wodicka and their practice. She is extremely competent and caring ... a great combination!

lol…I can’t use my rt hand arm. she was terrific. Actually there’s nothing that she could’ve done better.

The meeting seemed a bit rushed considering I had not received any information at my initial meeting with the surgeon. Courtney did provide a booklet when I explained I had not received anything but as I said it was a bit of an overload of info which is why I asked if she would be providing a printout of things discussed such as the meds, the cleansing with the Hipiclens etc. I actually had to call her back for clarification after reading through the booklet she provided that I should have received at the initial meeting with the surgeon but she had already gone for the day. Apparently their last appointment for pre op is 12:00 noon.

I experienced some pain in my longhorn bicept tendon after my surgery. I showed her how it hurt when my physical therapist passively straightened mr arm. She explained how it happened during surgery. I told her I was avoiding fully straightening my arm to avoid the pain. Since it is 6 weeks after surgery she advised me to start fully straightening the arm carefully and the pain would gradually go away. I followed her advice with great results. Another piece of good advice she gave me was based on the fact that during the first 5 weeks I had PT 3x per week plus did the entire routine at home once more each PT day and twice each non PT day. Her advice was based on the fact that I was just beginning the strengthening phase of my rehab. She said I should only do the strength building exercises 3x per week or risk over working the shoulder. This was great advice which in my eagerness to rehab my shoulder I would have overdone it. I also mentioned that being tall I always pushed off a chair with both arms to get up and now useing one arm was making my good arm very sore. She said if it was still a problem at my three month appointment they could possibly give me a cortisone injection to help me recover. Back in the 1980’s I ran the first HMO in Broward County. It was a full service staff model so our physician’s and medical staff were employees so I have a good sense of employees and I would rate Courtney A+
