Welcome to the multidisciplinary ALS clinic at Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We are an ALS Association Certified Treatment Center of Excellence providing our patients and caregivers with expert care and compassion.
ALS impacts many aspects of an individual's health, as well as their family and caregivers. Our ALS clinic utilizes a multidisciplinary team approach to ensure we address any physical, mental, and emotional challenges you may be facing.
The Phil Smith ALS Clinic is Co-Directed by Gustavo Alameda, MD, FAAN and Nithya Mathai, DNP,APRN,FNP-C . Our lead ALS clinic coordinator is Fiona Scarlett, RN.

OUR APPROACH
Attending a multidisciplinary ALS clinic has been shown to improve quality of life, symptom management and slow disease progression for patients with ALS by coordinating and providing specialized care, medications, and equipment. Our research collaborations and partnership with Massachusetts General Hospital and the Sean M. HEALEY & AMG ALS Clinic facilitates our continued growth and improvements in patient care.
