Planning is underway for the spectacular “This One’s for the Girls” luncheon to benefit the newly opened Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women’s Center at Holy Cross HealthPlex in Fort Lauderdale.

A sell-out is expected for the 4th annual luncheon on Thursday, October 27 at theHyatt Regency Pier 66. Select specialty boutiques with unique items will be open for shopping when the reception begins at 11 a.m. Lunch and a raffle follow at noon.

Chairs for the This One’s for the Girls Luncheon are Carrie Stiles Tidwell and Libby West. Chairs Emeritus are Doreen Koenig, Monica Maroone and Sheri Whittington, who all spearhead the Community Leadership Committee for the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women’s Center. Hostesses include the 150+ Girlfriend’s Club members who each pledged $5,000 as lifetime, founding members in support the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women’s Center.

“This is one of the signature events of the year that is always sold out,” said Tidwell. “It’s a kick-off for the season and a great time for everyone to catch up after the summer.”

During the luncheon, announcements will be made of major donations to the Women’s Center. “We have exciting news to share as we move into Phase 2 of construction for this one-stop world class healthcare facility for the women in our lives and for the community,” said Koenig. “We also are thrilled to celebrate the more than 150 Girlfriends who are part of this amazing effort. We are well on our way to reaching our goal of 200 Girlfriends.”

Tickets are $85 with $100 and $150 tickets that include special gifts and recognition. Table sponsorships also are available for $1,500 with special gift and recognition. Sponsorships for the event are still available. Call for more information. Valet parking is complimentary.

The Women’s Center, which is funded entirely through philanthropy, opened Phase 1 in September 2010 with the Jan Moran Reception Suite and the Jeane M. Dorini Women’s Imaging and Diagnostic Suite which serves as the nucleus of this comprehensive center, offering advanced breast imaging including digital mammography, minimally invasive diagnostic procedures, stereotactic breast biopsy, bone density studies and ultrasonography. Future plans for the Women’s Center include special programming, a medical spa, a meditation chapel and garden, a lifestyle center, education center and a café.
