Holy Cross Hospital Offers Free Healthy Cooking Classes
Holy Cross Hospital is pleased to offer the community a series of monthly healthy cooking classes that will take place in the newly opened Café and Teaching Kitchen at the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women's Center at the Holy Cross HealthPlex (1000 N.E. 56th St. in Fort Lauderdale).
Featuring a cooking demonstration by Holy Cross Hospital Executive Chef Daniel Hendon and take-home recipe cards for participants, the classes are held from 3 to 3:45 p.m. on:
• Thursday, July 25: Cooking healthy with grains
• Thursday, August 15: Tofu entrees
• Thursday, September: Mediterranean diet recipes
• Thursday, October 17: Cooking with pumpkin
• Thursday, November 14: Healthy Thanksgiving holiday, side dishes and food safety tips

The new Café is open to the public for breakfast and lunch from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays. The spacious quick-service restaurant offers made-on-site menu items such as Starbucks coffee and espresso, fresh fruit cups and parfaits, omelets and buttermilk pancakes, grilled chicken quesadillas and burritos, hot soups, and grab-and-go sandwiches, wraps and salads. Nutritional information is available for most items.
