Darren Debolt Holy Cross Hospital Director of the Year

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Holy Cross Hospital Director of Safety and Security Darren DeBolt has been honored as Director of the Year by the non-profit hospital.

Holy Cross Hospital President and CEO Patrick A. Taylor, M.D. presented the award saying. “Darren’s career at Holy Cross started back in 2011 and, from the start, he demonstrated the attributes of a good leader: top notch organizational skills, professionalism and a willingness to serve.  He is a caring individual and works closely with his Associates to help them achieve their maximum potential as individuals.”

The Director of the Year Award is presented to a staff member who demonstrates leadership, serves as an inspiration to others, embraces new responsibilities and offers innovative and thoughtful insights.

DeBolt is responsible for environmental safety, security and valet services at Holy Cross Hospital. He chairs the Environment of Care Committee and the Emergency Management Committee at the facility. Duties include conducting safety rounding, ensuring physical security is maintained, conducting disaster drills and scenarios to maintain readiness, and managing parking solutions at the facility.

A resident of Oakland Park, DeBolt is a member of the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety Officers. He is the current Communications Chair for the Broward County Healthcare Coalition and is a member of the South Florida Hospital and HealthCare Safety and Security Committee.

A former member of the U.S. Army who also served in the Florida National Guard, DeBolt has received numerous military awards including the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Medal, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Expert Infantryman Badge, Air Assault Badge and Expert Marksmanship Badge.

DeBolt’s community involvement includes chairing the American Cancer Society Relay for Life – Pompano Beach in 2007 and 2008 which raised more than $55,000.

After completing the U.S. Army Infantry School, DeBolt received his bachelor’s degree in homeland security from Florida Metropolitan University/Everest University.
