Dr. Monique Manganelli and Dr. Kevin Wang

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (May 5, 2015) – Holy Cross Hospital President and CEO Patrick A. Taylor, M.D. announced that Drs. Monique Manganelli and Kevin Wang have joined the Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician employed group of more than 160 physicians providing services throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Dr. Monique Manganelli joined the Holy Cross Medical Group from the Vail Valley Medical Center in Vail, Colo., where she designed and developed an endocrine service line offering patients in-office neck ultrasounds, ultrasound-guided fine needle biopsies, continuous glucose monitoring, and insulin pump clinical care, among other healthcare services. A practicing endocrinologist, Dr. Manganelli is board certified in internal medicine, endocrinology and metabolism. Her focus areas include thyroid and parathyroid diseases, diabetes care, obesity management, osteoporosis, and menopause. She is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, the Endocrine Society, the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine, and the American Diabetes Association. Dr. Manganelli, who has practiced medicine for more than 30 years, completed a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, N.Y., a major teaching facility for the State University of New York at Buffalo, and her residency in internal medicine at Coney Island Hospital, also in New York. She received her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada and also attended medical school at Universidad de Complutense in Madrid, Spain.

Kevin Wang, M.D.
Dr. Kevin Wang joins the Holy Cross Medical Group as an orthopedic surgeon with an extensive background in medical research. Prior to joining the Holy Cross Medical Group, Dr. Wang held an orthopedic fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Martin Roche, who is considered by many as a trailblazer in the field of orthopedics. Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Wang completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Boston University Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine, and his master's degree in medical sciences with his bachelor's degree in biology from Brown University in Providence, R.I. Dr. Wang has conducted vast research on multiple orthopedic topics, including hip arthroplasty, knee arthroplasty, compartment syndrome, traumatic injury and fracture healing. He has been published twice for his research regarding chemical influences on fracture healing. Dr. Wang’s focus areas include the innovative, minimally invasive anterior approach, which can accelerate recovery time while returning patients to a life with improved mobility and less pain.
