Luisa C. Gutman named as Chief Operating Officer
Luisa C. Gutman has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Holy Cross Hospital. For the last 18 months, Gutman has served as Senior Vice President of Operations and Chief Human Resource Officer of Holy Cross Hospital. During that time she assumed increasing levels of operational responsibility for many strategic clinical service lines as well as support service departments within the hospital.
According to Patrick A. Taylor, M.D., President and CEO of Holy Cross Hospital, Gutman’s attention to detail, her ability to execute effectively and her continued focus on patients and Associates was what set her apart for the position. “Luisa has been successful in taking on higher levels of management and business responsibility, and at the same time, she has maintained a wonderful sense of compassion for our Associates, patients and physicians,” said Dr. Taylor. “She is well grounded in our Core Values and is dedicated to the Mission of the Sisters of Mercy.”
Gutman also is actively involved in the community. She is a board member of Broward College Foundation and Minority Development and Empowerment; a member of the American Society of Health Care Human Resources Administrators, Society of Human Resources Management and South Florida Health Care Human Resources Association; and a member of the Girlfriend’s Club, women in the community who pledge $5,000 to become lifetime, founding members in support of the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women’s Center at Holy Cross HealthPlex. She was recently named a Woman of Distinction by the March of Dimes.
"Holy Cross is my home,” said Gutman, who began her career at Holy Cross Hospital 20 years ago as assistant director of human resources. “It's all about the people who are the heart of the organization. With the right people, like we have here at Holy Cross, anything is possible. I am so proud to be part of this team."
