Summary: ID# 01-11 Total hip and total knee replacement – Outcome, quality of life study

Study Description:

Stryker Total Hip Replacement System Outcome Study and Total Knee Replacement Outcome Study. The Stryker total hip system includes use of ceramic or polyethylene acetabular inserts and metal or ceramic heads.

Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria:

• > 18 years of age
• Male and non-pregnant female subjects
• Not classified as morbidly obese
• Clinically qualifies for total hip or knee surgery, based on physical examination & medical history
• Individual has NO plans to relocate to another part of the country prior to study completion.
• Individual is willing to have x-rays and clinical evaluations every year
• All implants are FDA approved. There is no compensation for this study.

Study Description:

Outcomes of Knee Arthroplasty Using a DePuy Knee System. All implants are FDA approved. There is no compensation for this study.

• Clinically qualifies for total knee surgery, based on physical examination & medical history
• > 21 years of age
• Male and non-pregnant female subjects
• Individual has NO plans to relocate to another part of the country prior to study completion.
• Not classified as morbidly obese
• Individual is willing to have x-rays and clinical evaluations every other year
