What Physical Therapy Offers
Physical therapy helps patients develop or recapture muscle strength and endurance needed for daily living. Therapists use positive, age-appropriate activities to focus on improving endurance, muscle strength, joint movement, muscle flexibility and other areas as needed.
Customized to Each Patient's Needs
Physical therapists collaborate with occupational therapists, physicians and other specialists to maximize each patient's potential with specific programs customized to each patient's unique needs.
The Team Approach
All therapeutic programs include input and participation from the client and the family. The therapy begins in the hospital. When the patient is discharged, the physician will often initiate a referral for therapy(ies). Therapists work together, and keep in close contact with the patient's physician, to insure treatment of the "whole person" to achieve the goals needed to achieve the highest level of performance.
