• Holy Cross Medical Group Adds Four Physicians

  Holy Cross Hospital President and CEO Patrick A. Taylor, M.D. has announced that four physicians have joined the Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician employed group of more than 150 physicians providing services throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties.
  
  "I am proud to welcome these four outstanding physicians to the Holy Cross Medical Group," Taylor said. "With expertise in family medicine, neurology, sports medicine and cardiology, they exemplify the comprehensive care and services offered by the Medical Group."
  

• Holy Cross Hospital Taking Part in Research Study to Evaluate Cell Therapy for Severe Cardiovascular Disease

  Researchers using cells from a patient’s own bone marrow to treat critical limb ischemia
  
  Michael Rush M.D. and Charles Tate M.D., at Holy Cross Hospital, have initiated patient enrollment in a national research study using an investigational cell therapy to treat patients with critical limb ischemia (CLI), a severe form of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) that can restrict blood flow to the arms and legs and can often lead to amputation.
  

• High-Risk Patients Now Eligible for Transcatheter Heart Valve Replacements

  Following recent approval by the FDA, the hospital is now using leading edge surgery for high risk patients as well as inoperable patients
  
  Holy Cross Hospital is now performing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedures for patients who have been deemed too high-risk to undergo open heart surgery.  The implantations are now done transfemorally (via the leg) and transapically (through the ribs).

  The third and final phase of the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women’s Center at Holy Cross HealthPlex is now complete with the opening of the Patricia R. Guerrieri Pavilion.

  Thanks to a generous $4 million gift from the Guerrieri Family Foundation, the Pavilion offers community education rooms for groups varying in size from 10 to 150 people; a café and teaching kitchen; medical spa; lifestyle counseling rooms; art gallery; volunteer office; and additional physician suites.
