A past chief of the Department of Surgery at Holy Cross, Dr. Imad Tabry has been practicing cardiac surgery at Holy Cross since 1980 and has recently joined the Holy Cross Medical Group. Dr. Tabry is a leader in off-pump coronary bypasses which allow the heart to remain beating during surgery. In select cases, this can prove beneficial to patients requiring bypass surgery, where the heart is typically stopped and a machine pumps the patient's blood. Advances like this that save and improve lives happen all the time at Holy Cross.

Dr. Tabry, a past chief of the Department of Surgery at Holy Cross, is a leader in off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery which allows the heart to remain beating during the surgery and can prove beneficial in select cases.
A past president of both the Fort Lauderdale Surgical Society and the Caducean Society of Greater Fort Lauderdale, Dr. Tabry is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He received his medical degree from the French School of Medicine in Beirut before serving a residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Yale University Hospital and holding a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
