Holy Cross Medical Group Adds Hematologist/Oncologist
Fort Lauderdale native is nationally recognized hematologist/oncologist
Holy Cross Hospital President and CEO Patrick A. Taylor, M.D. announced thatStephen G. Patterson, M.D., has joined the Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician employed group of more than 140 physicians providing services throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Prior to joining the Holy Cross Medical Group, Dr. Patterson was Chief Medical Information Officer and Medical Oncology Fellowship Program Director at the Nevada Cancer Institute. He holds certifications in medical oncology and internal medicine and as a medical examiner.
A nationally recognized speaker and author on the management of prostate and bladder cancer, Dr. Patterson also was an Associate Professor at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa as well as the Chief Medical Information Officer, Medical Director of the Infusion Center and Chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
Active in several organizations, Dr. Patterson is a member of the American Medical Informatics Society, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems, the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Southwest Oncology Group and the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology. Additionally, he serves as chair of the Record Steering Committee of the Health Information and Management Systems Society. Dr. Patterson has participated in several clinical trials, has extensive teaching experience and has been published in numerous journals and abstracts.
Dr. Patterson received his medical degree from the University of South Florida and his bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame. He is a native of Fort Lauderdale and grew up in the area.
