Holy Cross Medical Group Adds General Surgeon

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.– Holy Cross Hospital is pleased to announce that general surgeon Christopher R. Seaver, M.D., has joined the Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician employed group of more than 160 physicians providing services throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties.
 
Dr. Seaver has completed specialized training to perform Da Vinci® robotic surgery, offering minimally invasive procedures, and is a member of Holy Cross Hospital’s Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy team. In addition to his position with the Holy Cross Medical Group, Dr. Seaver also serves as a surgical faculty member in the physician assistant program at Barry University. Previously, he served as president elect of the medical staff and chief of surgery at the Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
 
A member of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Seaver holds certifications in fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery from the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, advanced trauma operative management and advanced trauma life support from the American College of Surgeons, and advanced cardiac life support from the American Heart Association. He also is trained in focused abdominal sonogram of trauma (FAST) techniques and the Allergan Lap-Band system. He has been published in several medical journals.
 
Dr. Seaver completed a fellowship in vascular surgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville and a general surgery residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, where he served as chief administrative resident.  He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, a master’s degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and a bachelor’s degree from Providence College in Rhode Island.
