Holy Cross Hospital Names New Vice President of Development and Marketing
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (August 26, 2014) – Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale has named Nancy Thies as its new vice president of development and marketing. Thies joins the non-profit hospital from United Way of Broward County, where she served as vice president of major and legacy gifts.
"Nancy is known throughout the community for her years of leadership and outstanding work in philanthropy," said Holy Cross Hospital President and CEO Dr. Patrick A. Taylor. "She is a perfect fit for this role and for our organization, and we're very fortunate to have her join our team."
At Holy Cross, Thies will focus on securing major gifts and building strong relationships with donors. She also will oversee strategic planning, budget management, marketing and special events.
Thies has more than 27 years of experience in development and marketing, serving in senior-level roles with Mason Strategic Communications, Don Shula's Hotel and Golf Club, John H. Harland Company and Miller Brewing Company.
She is an immediate past board member of the Planned Giving Council. . In the past, she served as president and board member for the Charity Guild, vice president of community affairs for the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale, a member of the Parent-Teacher Fellowship of Cardinal Gibbons High School and as a committee member for the Sister Parish Project at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
A resident of Fort Lauderdale, Thies received her bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
