Holy Cross Hospital Appoints Wound Healing and Hyperbarics Program Medical Director

Cornelius Scannell, MD, MPH

Holy Cross is pleased to announce the appointment of Cornelius Scannell, MD, MPH, as Medical Director of the Holy Cross Wound Healing and Hyperbarics Program at Holy Cross HealthPlex. Dr. Scannell is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Preventive Medicine (Occupational and Environmental Medicine).

Dr. Scannell has extensive experience in Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and served as the co-director of the Gonda Goldschmeid Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is an Internist and part of the Holy Cross Medical Group’s Internal Medicine Practice on Oakland Park Boulevard.

Holy Cross Wound Healing and Hyperbarics Program has a management services agreement with National Healing Corporation (NHC). Holy Cross recently launched its Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy services as an adjunct therapy to treat non healing wounds. Its physician panel includes specialists in General / Vascular Surgery, Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine, Plastic Surgery and Podiatry.
