| Mission The Mission of Holy Cross Hospital, a community healthcare center sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, is to serve people with Christ-like compassion. We accept the Gospel challenge that prompted Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, to respond to the needy of her time. We commit ourselves to enhancing the quality of life throughout the life cycle by promoting and restoring health, alleviating suffering, and caring for the sick and dying in an environment that ensures dignity and respect for each person. We pledge ourselves to leadership in health education, and to the search for new ways of meeting the health needs of the community, especially the poor and the elderly. Our Philosophy We believe that every person, as created and loved by God, is unique and has a right to life from conception until death. We uphold this right through policies and practices which affirm the ethical and moral teachings of the Catholic Church. We believe that the patient is our primary focus. Holy Cross Hospital is committed to offering quality healthcare for the whole person in order to heal as Jesus did by providing for the spiritual, emotional, social and physical needs of those we serve. We believe in the values of loyalty, compassion, responsibility, mutual respect, integrity and justice. Everyone serving at Holy Cross Hospital is expected to reflect these values. We believe that all who serve at Holy Cross Hospital should help cultivate a Quality of Work Life that emphasizes the values of each person and acknowledges the responsibility to insure prudent management of our resources. We believe in cooperating with the efforts of the Sisters of Mercy and with other healthcare providers to address unmet needs and to integrate services with the total health community. |
