The Role of a Patient Navigator
While a healthcare professional, a Patient Navigator will leave all medical advice to physicians but the Navigator will encourage patients to investigate all sources of cancer information. Decisions involving medical treatment, or which healthcare provider to use are highly personal and a Patient Navigator will not try to sway patients in one direction or another. In addition, the physician/patient relationship is respected in all cases with the overall goal of improving the patient's health.
