Holy Cross Hospital to Purchase North Ridge Medical Center

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Feb. 1, 2008) – Holy Cross Hospital Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has signed a definitive agreement to purchase North Ridge Medical Center, a 332-bed acute care Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC) hospital in Oakland Park. Financial terms were not disclosed.

“We are currently exploring a series of plans and options to evaluate the resources North Ridge may offer to support the Holy Cross Mission and further serve the community,” John C. Johnson, President and CEO, Holy Cross Hospital Inc. said of the North Ridge Medical Center purchase. “This business opportunity is a win-win for the community and Holy Cross.”

The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.  The sale is expected to be completed within 60 days.
